Blue and yellow lobsters!
Did you know?
Very rarely lobster can have different colors than normal. One out of 4 million lobsters is in a light blue color and one out of 30 million is yellow. This happens due to a genetic disease.

With my blog I try to present short entertaining facts about animals, buildings or lots of other categories. Personally I like the fact accounts on Instagram and all the weird aspects of nature you normally would not believe. About finding a fact - I think of a topic - for example an interesting animal and then I start my research and learn about it's details and habits. When I find something interesting I will concentrate the knowledge into a few sentences and publish it here. The images taken are free to use from pixabay. 1. The tongue of a blue whale weights up to 2700 kilograms. In Fact, most oft it's organs are the largest of all animals!
2. Eleven people died while working on the Golden Gate Bridge until it was finished in 1937. Even though they had a safety net!
3. Some smaller species of Hummingbirds can flap their wings up to 80 times per second. The larger ones are doing it for a minimum of 12 times per second.
4. Humans have 2 lungs - a right one and a left one. The left one is lightly smaller, because it shares space with the heart. Therefore the right lung is also heavier.
5. Big Ben is the nickname for the largest of the 5 bells at the Clock Tower at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London and it weighs 13700 kilograms (13,7 tonnes). For about 23 years this was the largest bell in the UK.
6. A grown lion can consume up to 30 kilograms of meat per meal. They usually don't hunt humans but some of them (usually males) may seek out human prey.
7. The top of the Eiffel Tower can shift away on hot days for about 18 centimeters due to the thermal expansion of the metal it is made of.
8. To catch radiation - besides the eyes - rattlensnakes have a set of heat sensing "pits" on their head. They can sense thermal radiation and locate temperature differences of about 0.003°C in its close surroundings.
9. Slugs and snails both are hermaphrodites. It means that they have male and also female reproduction organs at the same time.
10. The statue of liberty changed its color around 1900. At first it had a dull copper color - but with the years it changed to a green patina. By 1906 it had entirely covered the statue.
