EMPOWERING THE GENERATION X: Memories from the Business, Leadership and Opportunities (BLO) Conference 2018 organised at the University of Benin by Take Charge Initiative

After about 6 months of diligent planning and organization, the Business, Leadership and Opportunities Conference 1.0 was finally staged on the 12th of February, 2018 at the Festus Iyayi Hall of the University of Benin where we had the following keynote speakers:

• Ogbemudia Eddy Uwoghiren, a Medical Student and Founder of LifeSaversNG, a non-profit organisation aimed at promoting the learning and practice of basic first aid treatment throughout Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa. As a Medical Journalist, he has travelled to over 15 countries of the world to cover events and also to attend bootcamps, seminars and trainings on Medical Journalism. He is also a correspondent with the Nation Newspapers

• EldaDavid Samuel Kehinde, a Social Media Enthusiast and Director of Operations at Nirmana Chellarams, an Entrepreneurship and Leadership Company based in Lagos which is poised at equipping the younger generation with the skills needed to contribute meaningfully and sustainably to National development

• Oscar Oboira Udebuana, the CEO of Agro-Barn Limited, an agro-allied company based in Ogun State. He also founded EduPoint, a Company poised to delivering quality learning solutions. While at the University of Benin, he was the Team Lead of ENACTUS University of Benin and Unilever Campus Ambassadors. He was also a Campus Ambassador for world renowned IT company, Mozilla FireFox. He is currently a Medical Student at the Lagos State University and a recipient of the HULT Prize
