Infrared Photography - Findley Ridge Part 1
In 1875 there was quite a gold rush occurring in the South. The mine has since flooded but old equipment is still laying in the forest long after everyone involved has passed away. It was state of the art at the time, much like our servers of today. And pretty amazing to see what old machinery looks like.

The woods are taking back the whole area and it was hard to walk up close to the machines as there could be many snakes in the grass or things living inside of the metal homes.
I believe iron was used in the construction of these parts. Im sure they had a hell of a time getting them to this sight back in the 1800s. One of the regions is called "Dead Horse Cut" so wouldnt be surprised if some of the hauling animals did not make it in the construction of such a site.
This machine appears to be a differential of some sort, and those big wheels are flywheels i believe. Not sure on the end what hooked up, probably the shaft for the pulverizing stamps that turned the hard rock into sand and gravel, which then chemicals could be used to remove the gold. This technique is known as gold amalgamation.
The machines in the background are the stamp mills, they would crush the rock mined from the earth. A friend of mine joined me on the hike to this location, Ive been here many times but never with my special camera. Glad I brought it along to get some infrared photos of the area.
Up on one of the hills were broiler tanks. Maybe these machines were steam powered using the hot water evaporation to run the big machines in the earlier pictures.

I take pictures with a special camera. Its a Mirrorless DSLR that has been modified by Life Pixel to see light in other wavelengths. This allows my camera to see light in the Infrared [IR] around 1300 NM wavelength, through the visual spectrum and into the Ultraviolet A and B wavelengths roughly into the 300 NM wavelength.
I carry many filters on me to make the photos you see in my blog, these filters screw on my lens and help me isolate certain wavelengths for certain scenes. These filters can be IR / UV pass-through filters to assist me get a natural photo taking out the UV and IR light. Or I may use a Infrared pass-through filter capture just IR light. I can do the same with UV light as well, though I need some better filters which they can cost a few hundred dollars for true Ultraviolet pass through filters. So for right now I have B + W 403 bandpass filters that still allow some IR light in, due to their cheaper material.
There are also exotic glasses made of sapphire and germanium I am open to working with to replace my silica glass hot mirror with a material that allows even longer wavelengths of infrared to enter my cameras sensor. Special sensors, lenses and filters of that material would be needed as well, so it would be a big project but one that may give some even more unique photography results.

good captured, yeah seeing old machine is kind of amazing. We have no idea that it's like this before we have a new machinery today

@mrnightmare89 I see many simular parts on this machine you would find on a modern machine. And then other parts I just wonder what their purpose was. Glad you liked them.

What a cool place to explore even more cool seen in Infra red like this
@tattoodjay yeah seeing the gold rush history in the forest like this has been alot of fun. The cold iron against the forest sure looks cool in IR.

Ohh yeah the iron does stand out so well in IR
Terrific shots. They'd make some great "noir" monochrome art photos – especially that first shot.
Resteemed
@momzillanc thanks much for the resteem. And glad you like them. Yeah I should do something like that with them.

If you don't have a filter for "noir" B&W, you can jack up the "black point" and "brilliance" in the image in light settings and the intensity settings of the adjustments window.
@momzillanc ah okay.. I'll need to read up on that technique.

I look forward to seeing your application of the style.
Where did you got this type of photography?just nice

@nevlu123 I took these pictures with my special camera in the forest. If you got Ebay in your country you can buy modded infrared cameras probably..
