Crater Hill Volcano in Zion National Park
Mount Kinesava glows with a golden hue in the foreground while behind the Vermilion Cliffs surround Crater Hill, a cinder cone volcanic remnant. This image shows a clear view of the different stepped layers of the Escalante Grand Staircase geological formation which goes from the Grand Canyonall the way up here to Zion.
Mount Kinesava glows with a golden hue in the foreground while behind the Vermilion Cliffs surround Crater Hill, a cinder cone volcanic remnant. Hurricane Mesa looms on the horizon, an interesting fact about that mesa is that this is the location, (along the top of that ridge on the left side) there is a test track where they used to fire rocket sleds with various different types of jet fighter ejection systems.
Check this link out: Hurricane Supersonic Research Site They used to shoot the sled and the crash test dummy pilot would eject out over the horizon and land in that valley below. Cool!!
I lensed this image flying around the Zion National Park on my way to shoot the Flake Mountains in Johns Valley. To gauge the scale of this image size, each of those dark dots on Mount Kinesava is a large tree.
This is from my ongoing project in which I am trying to raise awareness of the 47% of the USA and 90% of Canada that remain unpopulated wilderness.
Where Eagles Fly - The American Wilderness Expedition is my personal mission to introduce people to these amazing locations that surround us.

Yes its looking in picture that Mount Kinesava glows with a golden hue. Mount Kinesava is looking totally different because such types of Mountains are less in the world. Thanks for sharing such valuable post.
