These were growing in a garage that has a roof, no rainwater come in and the ground is completely dry. they were looking nice in the orange afternoon sun

Hard to tell for sure from the pic but I think they are puff balls . Once they dry the should have a greenish powder that puffs out of them when kicked or thrown

Be aware... if you take one and walk for 2km you will find a Pokemon

puffballs are smaller and have small 'horns' all over. (I could be wrong though.)
