GUY FAWKES IN WELLINGTON NEW ZEALAND
The day we celebrate blowing things up.
Unlike America where they actually go over to other countries and blow them up, in commonwealth countries like England and New Zealand we just have a big fireworks display on the 5th of November called Guy Fawkes.
Here is what Wikipedia says about Guy Fawkes. Unlike when they write stuff about Hillary Clinton, vaccinations, or Paleo diets, presumably Wikipedia is not being paid truck loads of cash to lie through their teeth about this subject, so possibly this summary is mostly about right.

It’s a pretty big deal here in NZ, and many people (but not their pets), get right into it.
It’s also the day that @kiwideb and I first met, and it’s pretty cool to have an exploding anniversary.
Each year Wellington, like many NZ cities, has a big public fireworks display. It takes place over the harbour, and the whole of town goes nuts. If it falls on a Saturday, as it did this year, town goes double nuts. I haven’t got any photos of the crowds because there was no room to whip out my camera without knocking into someone, but here are some photos of the fireworks.
@sift666 aspires to be a professional photographer and be sponsored by Canon. All of these photos were taken using a Canon camera with one of those lenses that stick out and get bigger when you push the right buttons. Sort of like an erection.
He believes that it would be good for the world in general if America blew up their own parliament buildings every four years, and killed off all their politicians, especially whatever numpty has just been “elected” president, before they have a chance to invade anyone else’s county and have a fireworks display there.
