Many people know that the Assumption Cathedral is on the old foundation, but it can appear that the impression that it was used as a foundation, a newly rebuilt cathedral. But this is not so.

A new foundation was laid directly over the old one. As a result, the whole cathedral was higher than before. And this is always noticeable when you try to repeat the frame of an old photo with it.
