📷 Portraits Amidst Cherry Blossoms

First signs of Spring

Today's the last day of the lunar new year holidays, and unfortunately we didn't get good weather to finish the holiday. I brought my vintage 50 mm f/1.4 Takumar lens to shoot some portraits at a temple where cherry blossoms have already begun to bloom.

These were all shot wide open on a full-frame camera.

The lens sharpness drops off rapidly from the center, but yields a soft and pastel like look.

Hope you enjoyed this post! I strive hard to provide quality content :)

You sure picked the right clothes to wear, to go with the background colors. You have an early spring with cherry blossoms already. It's nice to know that someone is enjoying spring right now! That is an interesting photography tip, about using a narrow focus lens for portraits.

Thanks, the clothes just happened to match, pure coincidence!
Taiwan has relatively short winters, most of the year feels like summer :)

Well, it was a nice coincidence. I notice family portrait photographers in my area advising families to wear color coordinated clothes for their photo sessions. That color coordination really conveys "family togetherness". Enjoy your spring weather and the beautiful flowers!
