Today I'd like to show some portraits of a cattle egret I took with a Canon 450D and a 100-400mm lens. It is a common species and I've seen it a few times when just walking about or even driving along highways in Taiwan.
The photos below were shot during the breeding season, when their plumage exhibits more saturated colors.
Due to the heavy cropping of some photos, the resolution is really low (sorry!). Even with a large bird and at 400mm focal length, I wasn't close enough to the bird to fill the frame on my crop sensor camera.
