Baking Berry Cakes

After the success of my Chinese biscuits and the Swiss Roll, I decided to give my baking skills a little exercise again. I was quite pleased with the outcome of the other recipes and my friends enjoyed them as a tasty treat over tea. Getting things prepared in advance is important when going into the baking process and I have made it a habit now of preparing things well in advanced before actually getting into the cooking phase. There is nothing worse than coming across a great recipe to try out yourself then realising that you’re missing something. I really enjoyed the biscuits I last made and decided to go with another western approach and make some berry cakes for a fruity twist. I thought it to be only fitting to give this a shot after the success of the other trials and it was still a simple enough recipe to try out. I spent some time reading over the recipe and noted some of the differences in the recipe including the procedure leading up to cooking, there were a few extra steps I had to account for before getting on with mixing and baking.
