Flower of Sponge Gourd Vegetable

Hi friends.Welcome to my photography blog.I have shared some photos of the sponge gourd flower.This is an annual species of vine cultivated for its fruit,native to South and Southeast Asia.The fruit of sponge gourd is approximately 30 cm long and maturing to brown,resembles a cucumber in shape and size.The young fruit is eaten as a vegetable and is commonly grown for that purpose in tropical Asia.I like this vegetable a lot.The flower of this vegetable is so beautiful.
