Photoblog #2 : Turkey - Hagia Sophia (Aya Sofya) in The Old City of Instanbul
During our backpacking stint around North Africa and the Middle East, we spent a fair amount of time in Turkey. There were so many great places but hanging around the old city, playing tourist in the morning and then playing local in the afternoons, in one of the many cafes with a glass of mint tea, a backgammon board and a sheesha pipe made us feel right at home
It was so hard to drag ourselves from this beautiful city and the comfortable routine we'd settled into. But enough of our temporary Turkish life for now.
One of the most stunning sights of Old Istanbul is of course the Hagia Sophia.
I could stand inside and stair up at the columns, dome and ceiling all day - simply awe inspiring.
