Etlingera elatior Flower
Etlingera elatior,also known as torch ginger,is a tropical plant species native to Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia and Malaysia.The flower of Etlingera elatior is very distinctive and attractive, with a large,cone-shaped inflorescence that can grow up to 45 centimeters long and 20 centimeters wide.The inflorescence is made up of numerous individual flowers that are tightly packed together, and each flower has a long,slender pinkish-red petal that forms a tube shape.In addition to its ornamental value, the torch ginger flower is also used in traditional medicine and cooking in some Southeast Asian countries.The flower buds and young shoots are edible and have a tangy,slightly sour taste,while the roots and rhizomes are used in herbal remedies to treat various ailments such as fever,cough,and stomach disorders.
