The first photograph of the solar eclipse occurred in 1851

in #photography7 years ago

For those who reside in North America, the solar eclipse that falls on August 21, 2017, was one of the most deserving scenes of photography and monitoring throughout the ages. But in 1851, the cameras were not enough, and that year was the first photograph of the solar eclipse. The picture below was taken by the Prussian photographer Johann Julius Friedrich Berkowski. Where he is the first person to photograph this phenomenon. Prussian royal observatory commissioned Berkowski to take the picture, and at that time no one was able to capture that image appropriately, taking into account the halo view (a glowing halo of plasma surrounding the sun). The photo was taken and the silver panels took 84 seconds to take the picture.According to a study in the journal Acta Historica Astronomiae, the image was taken by a small refractive telescope linked to Heliometer Fraunhofer 15.8 mm. Since Berkowski's historical picture, photographers all over the world have been turning their lenses into the sky waiting for this rare eclipse. Here is a glimpse of some other eclipse images.

I t has been 166 years since the first photograph of the eclipse, and this year NASA will monitor the eclipse of the sun with cameras on airplanes to get the clearest possible images of the sun's rays.
