Awesome day out

A day out with the granddaughter for granddad. It was never going to be the most exciting day for a 5 year old because there wasn't a playground.
First of all it was a UKBeg meet so I got the bike out. That's mine nearest the camera.

Michelle my wife and Mia our granddaughter couldn't go on the bike so I followed her in her car.

That's her pride and joy. A 5ltr mustang.

We visited the Lincolnshire Heritage Air Museum at Spilsby to see the Lancaster Bomber.

It was fantastic to also listen to the last surviving member of 617 squadron 'The Dam Busters' in a awesome setting under the Lancaster.

George 'Johnny' Johnson was a bomb aimer on McCarthy's crew who attacked the Scorpe Dam.

He told us about the build up to the great raids on 17th May 1943 and the loss of life with almost no gain from the mission. He was very clear for a 93 year old and also quite funny at times.

Overall I think everyone enjoyed the day and apart from the heavy rain on the way home, it was a success
