Gabo Naum (fr. Naum Gabo, real name Naum Borisovich [Nehemiah Berkowitz] Pevsner, August 5, 1890, Bryansk - August 23, 1977, Waterbury, Connecticut) - a Russian and an American painter, sculptor and architect, art theorist, one of the leaders of the global art the avant-garde. Honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (1973).
Gabo belonged to the movement of constructivism and perceived the form as a metaphor for space. In 1922, he left Russia, lived in Berlin and Paris, and later became a US citizen. In 1952, he created a huge sculptural composition for a shopping center in Rotterdam, where he showed as his architectural talent.
