Pond is the only source of drinking water in this village. Do you believe ?
It is unbelievable that a pond (locally called Dighi) is the only source of drinking water for the entire village. But, it’s true. West Bengal is a state of India where I live in. Last year when I visited rural area of the southern part of Bengal I found this pond. There are only two arsenic polluted tube-well situated in the village. Around 300 families crowd an open water pond, locally called Dighi, throughout the day.
