Impressions of a Bavarian City Square

Yesterday I had to go to our County Seat in Traunstein, so I decided to take my camera and give you an impression.

Our County Seat in a small city with just under 20,000 residents. It is about a 25 minutes drive from us to the Northeast and is situated on a plateau. bf DSC_0184.jpg It's a great drive, you can take a slight detour and go past the Eastern shore of the Chiemsee, or take another more direct route that affords great views -- this is the view looking back towards our valley from a couple of miles outside of Traunstein.

Gestern musste ich nachTraunstein, unsere Kreisstadt, fahren und nahm meine Kamera mit, um euch einen Eindruck zu geben.

Unsere Kreisstadt ist eine kleine Stadt mit nicht ganz 20.000 Einwohnern. Sie liegt auf einem Plateau etwa 25 Minuten nordöstlich von uns. Es ist eine großartige Fahrt. Man kann einen kleinen Umweg machen und am Ostufer des Chiemsees vorbei fahren, oder eine direktere Route nehmen, die einen herrlichen Ausblick bietet - oben ist der Blick ein paar Km südlich von Traunstein zu sehen.
bf DSC_0178.jpg It is possible to drive through the market place, but it is paved with cobblestones. It will rattle you, and you can only drive at a snails pace. It's better to park and walk in.
