C-130 photography series #1

Stormy days are quite often one of the best days to fly. More wind for pilots to utilize, and more clouds to look at! This was a particularly rainy week when these pictures were taken, I think it was the second or third day without seeing the sun. Very wet, and muggy, and icky. And then when we got above the clouds we had this wonderful view.

And I found the sun! Big guy hadn't found his way down yet before we got airborne so I finally got to see him after a few days. It was refreshing.

I know its hard to tell at this point in the flight but we were over Maryland just south of Baltimore. I can't tell from the picture, I just remember asking when I took it. It's all clouds to me.

We finally got far enough south to start seeing some of the wetlands along the eastern shore. I always find looking at photographs of islands and other land masses from an aerial view tends to better shape just how interesting everything can look. Because when you're on the ground you just might see poison ivy and bugs and get focused on the raw beauty, but from the sky that's kind of all you see.

Alrighty folks, that's it for this set. I hope you enjoyed and there are more to come from this same trip. Be safe out there!
