Palestinians demand the right of return to their country, which Israel has occupied

The return marches began last Friday, where tens of thousands of Palestinians gathered in several locations near the fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel to demand a return.

The Israeli occupation army repulsed these peaceful activities by force and targeted civilians, killing 18 Palestinians and injuring hundreds.

These rallies revived attention to the term Palestinian right of return, which emerged after the 1948 Nakba, after a series of massacres committed by Palestinian gangs against Palestinian villages and cities resulted in the displacement of about 800,000 Palestinians at the time.

Since then, Palestinian refugees - currently numbering about 5.9 million - have been demanding that they return to their land, despite the fact that 70 years have passed since their forced migration.

International resolutions issued by the United Nations provide for the right of refugees to return to their lands, which has not yet been implemented.
