Introduction
We checked the weather ahead of game time, and they were calling for the rain to let up around 5pm and resume around 10pm. It would have been perfectly timed for the 7pm football game. Unfortunately, the skies had other plans and the game was postponed due to lightning part way through the 2nd quarter. After waiting an hour or more for the lightning to stop, the game was eventually rescheduled for the next day.
Fortunately, though, Rustin's band had the pre-game show, so we got our performance in. It was the first time the band performed in uniform and the first time with decorative props on the field. It was only the second game of the season, but we can already see the band becoming more comfortable with the performance.
I posted some of my pictures through steepshot on game night, but this is the first opportunity I've had to follow up with a more descriptive post. The remainder of this post will contain photos from the home team's side before the game. Check back later for another post with the view from the stands on the visitor's side.
Unless otherwise noted, all images are original photos taken with an LG-G4 cell phone.
Before Pregame
As mentioned in the introduction, this was the first time the band took the field in uniform and it was the first appearance of the visual field props. Here is what they looked like as the band took the field, with help from the parent volunteers.
While I was on the home team side waiting for Rustin's band to perform, I also caught some photos of the West Chester East marching band, cheerleaders, and football team.
You might also recognize the school's name, because this is the band that was caught in lock down at their school in the Breaking News post from Wednesday. Their high school is very close to where that incident took place.

Pregame Show
And that brings us to the pregame show for Rustin's band. Here are some photos from the performance.
It's harder than you might imagine to get a picture of the Drum Major facing away from the band and towards the camera
And here's another shot of the newly decorated field props. No parents on the field this time.
Mellophone, Clarinet, Saxophone, and Baritone
Percussion, Flute, Trumpet and Saxophone
Got most of the band in this one
Brass and Percussion (and a Gatorade carrier!)
Flags (and others)
Conclusion
I hope you enjoyed viewing the photos from the home team's side prior to the game, including photos of the home team, and also Rustin's pregame marching band performance. Check back later for the perspective from the visitor's side during the game, up until the rain-out.
In case you're wondering, when the game resumed later that week-end, Rustin's Golden Knights lost by a score of 31-21. As of today, that is their only loss for the season.
The @rgkmb-unofficial account is an experimental account that is operated by Steve Palmer (@remlaps). The account's purpose is to demonstrate the viability of a fund-raising model that is based on use of the Steem block chain in the community. The account's goal for 2018 is to raise enough money to send one student on the Rustin Golden Knight Marching Band's trip from Pennsylvania to Florida in December for performances in the Citrus Parade and in Disney.
