Hummingbird Moths
See What I See:
You can see right through their delicate wings.
They are feeding off of the phlox nectar, which they extract from the flowers with very long tongues.
Hummingbird Moths look like large prawns flying through the air.
Just like bumblebees, it’s a wonder that hummingbird moths can even become airborne, due to their stout bodies.

Cool :) ... sad is this I not have this bug here :))
Hi @foxkoit!
You and I have a lot in common. We like to observe nature and then capture her, doing her thing in the best light.
I loved your web shot...such a perfect chain of suspended crystal droplets. Magic before your eyes. ;)
(It means early morning waiting and late afternoon waiting in Canada and I think it’s the same in Estonia, no?)
Hi :) And thank you that you lake it :) ... I like street photography also. You can see my old photos up in Instagram .. name is same @ foxkoit.
Fantastic!
Thanx :)
Those amazed me since childhood, so weird... at first didn't know the name... in bulgarian sounds a little different...
Did not see any of them during last years :(
That is amazing, I have never seen these before. We have tiny hummingbirds around here that buzz around but I didn't know about these.
They kinda look like giant cicadas from behind in that video.
Yes, they actually resemble little brown bats because their torsos are completely fury. Let’s just say I wouldn’t want to be hit by one on a motorcycle. ;)
