RE: The Hong Kong from the 60'

in #photography7 years ago

A lot of producers love Hong Kong for their scifi movie settings. It really makes a wonderful dystopian world background and I've recognised it frequently even though I've never been to Hong Kong!
Total Recall with Arnold Schwarzenegger and The Fifth Element with Bruce Willis are a couple movies that I've watched reruns on TV recently. I don't think that movies are ever going to stop going to Hong Kong for inspiration. It's just too interesting!

Yes, Hong Kong is a place that really inspires movie directors the first "Blade Runner" from Ridley Scott is an homage to Hong Kong, even in the opening title he says "To Sir Run Run Shaw" who was the biggest producer of Hong Kong. The last movie where you can see only Hong Kong in a nice compositing way to change the town is "ghost in the shell" from Rupert Sanders it was all shot in HK as many of Sci-Fi movie lately. Hong Kong film industry is also one of the biggest in the world.
