My Salt is Not Salted Again
The sea and sunshine bring blessings to the coastal population of Lancok, District of Syantalira Bayu, North Aceh Regency, Aceh Province. Citizen fishermen who are mostly middle-aged women never give up their activities under the hot sun that stung the pond plots that farmers use to get the bulk salt.
For decades, the peasants of the region produced white crystals that dissolved in a cauldron of one to three feet that were able to meet their needs, from the claws of their fingers to salty crystal as a flavor enhancement to every food.
But sometimes they are lethargic, how hard the salt farmers are not worth the income earned, in addition to the difficulty when producing due to weather factors, the scarcity of wood used to fuel the market price of salt was bargained at low prices the impact of the amount of salt imported products.
The gracious smile emanated from Ramlah (47) and Nur Habimah (55) two salt farmers of Lancok Village, one of them sorting out the freshly salted salt and the other vigorously working the seawater to make salt, the farmers' enthusiasm for the high demand and salt price increase that reaches Rp10 thousand per kilogram from the price is usually only around Rp3000 perkilogramnya, the farmers earned the optimal profit.
Very simple in their method, the seawater that flowed through a small trench from a distance of 250 meters was accommodated by a roundabout and a plot of land, some of the farmers used a bucket with bamboo to meet a small well made not far from the roundabout to settle the salt crystals.
Water that fills the pond is left exposed to the sun until the salted salt level rises to produce a large white crystalline salt supported by the hardness of the ground surface can produce a quality salt.

After the sand is dried, it creates salt crystals, the sand is transported into a filtration hut from a special container for the filtration process, the sand is doused with salt water, the exhaust air or the filtration result is accommodated in a container.
Do not stop there, the air filtration then dried again by using stalls from palm-shaped palm-shaped parts to place the salt water and dampen, with the sun's brittle dependence of the salt water becomes hard, then dredged into grains of white salt and ready to be consumed.

In producing salt, salt consumption relies solely on nature and a strong will to survive to produce the best salt quality, improper production, marketing minimization, no packaging and promotion.
"The price of salt is currently rising by Rp10 thousand per kilogram to buy the middlemen who come here, now we can taste the sweetness of the price of salt with high demand, much absorbed by the industry and the needs of marinating fish," said Ramlah smiling while fixing the fire to cook salt.
According to him, the scorching weather conditions in the past week have continued to be driven to produce quality salt, because of the high demand of farmers in order to increase the price of salt at the local and national levels.
"Because of our traditional processing, the main supporting factor is sunlight, salt can be produced well when the weather is always bright, when the cloudy weather let alone rain then make us and produce a little salt," Ramlah said.
According to the salt farmers, since early July, the salt farmers of the region have produced 17 tons of salt from 33 ponds of salt ponds spread over 4 haktar ponds, salt-white salt farmers reached 20 tons.
"For one month, we can use 20 tons of salt, but to store salt in large capacity we are constrained storage warehouse, our salt storage warehouse is still traditional," moan Ramlah.
Currently, salt farmers can smile a little and breathe a sigh of relief after a long time the price of salt plummeted to change their salt 'Tak Asin Lagi' is far from the expectations of salt farmers who feed their families from salt crystal panning.
