On Vietnamese roads heading for waterfall climbing	Auf den Straßen Vietnams mit dem Ziel Wasserfallklettern
One day after our hike, described here in Vietnam #1 and #2, we were driving along on a scooter in the mountainous area around Sapa in the North of Vietnam on the look out for good spots. We planned to go for hiking along streams and seeing some of the waterfalls the region is rich of.	Einen Tag nach unserer Wanderung, zu sehen hier Vietnam-Beiträge #1 und #2, sind wir mit dem Motorroller durch die gebirgige Gegend um Sapa im Norden Vietnams gefahren, um geeignete Stellen zu finden, an denen wir an Flüssen entlang laufen und Wasserfälle, von denen es in dieser Region nur so wimmelte, sehen konnten.

A clear recommendation in Sapa. While showering in the Panorama Hotel one was able to look over the mountains surrounding Sapa. Unfortunately, while taking these shots it was very cloudy.	Eine klare Empfehlung in Sapa. Während des Duschens im Panorama Hotel ließen sich die Berge um Sapa bestaunen. Als ich die Aufnahmen machte, war jedoch es leider gerade sehr bewölkt.

All of my alarm bells should have rung loudly, when I realised the display neither worked for speed nor the fuel gauge reading (photo was taken by my wife while driving). It turned out to be a big mistake that they have not rung loud enough for us to react. In the next part I will share with you why.	Meine Alarmglocken hätten schrill läuten sollen, als ich realisierte, dass weder das Tempometer noch die Tankanzeige funktionierten (das Foto entstand während der Fahrt). Es entpuppte sich als ein großer Fehler, dass sie nicht laut genug läuteten, uns davon abzuhalten damit zu fahren. Im nächsten Teil gehe ich darauf ein.


And why I should have payed more attention to this warning sign.	Und warum ich diesem Warnzeichen eine größere Aufmerksamkeit hätte schenken sollen.

Did you still make it to the waterfalls for your hike, or did you have to hike to a gas station instead?

I was in the north of Vietnam (Hanoi) a few years ago, in December. I wanted to visit Sapa, but decided against it. I was sooo cold! Like 10C in Hanoi. I wore my single pair of jeans for 2 weeks straight. Which I don't recommend, btw 😉 .

But Sapa was even worse: it SNOWED there! The Vietnamese were going crazy for it, they were all posting snow pictures on Twitter:

Ähhhh, ja da sollte man drauf reagieren, wenn die Anzeige net funzt! :D Vor allem in Südostasien oder egal wo man eigentlich ist...Is schon ein Erlebnis

Oh ja, wie Recht Du doch hast. Ja, normalerweise bin ich bei sowas auch wachsam, ja schon pingelig. In dem Moment waren wir zu sehr gefühlt auf "Wolke 7" - ein dicker Fehler :).
