Inspiration for Game of Thrones
This cliff was the inspiration for the wall in Game of Thrones. It is one of the facinating natural wonders in Iceland. As much as I love GOT, the interesting fact about this cliff has nothing to do with the popular TV show. The cool thing about this spot is that it is right on the mid-Atlantic rift that separates the North American and European Continental plates. The ground here is slowly drifting West but a few steps away the Earth itself is splitting apart and moving East.
