Amazing nature #05, natural tailors(Tailor ants).

Nature is really wonderful and interesting especially when we get closer to it with passion and zeal. I discovered a set of ants unique and conscious in doing their things and are called tailor ants because of what they do.
However, these are that make their nests between the leaves of trees, citrus trees, mango trees are often hung with them.

These leaves are thus sewn together round the edges using silk to bind and it forms a hollow round nest with a wall of leaves. The workers are yellowish-red and have a painful bite because of the poison they give off which gets into the beaten area.

Interestingly, they are ready to defend the nests against any intruders and if they are approached they can be seen to vibrate, making a rapid tapping sound which can be heard in short burst as a warning signal. Inside he nests are several winged Queens and ark brown winged males, a number of eggs and larvae.

To repair the nest, the workers hold the outside edges of two leaves together, while other workers move along the inner edges holding larvae in their mouths; by waving it up and down the edge, the larvae secrets silk which aids in gluing the edges of the said leaves. As such by repeating this process, when necessary any holes found therein can be repaired.

This is really quite amazing and worth observing. Just observing things happening in our natural environments gives us a sign of relief especially during moments of distress, as such always endeavor to consult or visit your natural environment. This always shows how hierarchical they are and respecting their various functions, nature is thus wonderful, beautiful and lovely. So if we preserve, we will always have a beautiful environment ant beautiful things therein.
