cranes hanging 1024.jpg

Saw these multi-colored origami cranes hanging from a wooden frame. In Asia the crane symbolizes happiness and eternal youth. In Japan the crane is a mystical or holy creature and stands for good fortune and longevity because of its fabled life span of a thousand years. In a Japanese wedding tradition, the bride folds a thousand and one origami cranes. She can do whatever she wants with them but most will make an arrangement with the cranes like a family crest, frame it and display it at the reception.
