Those are all sound advices @tarazkp, but…

Second lesson: Do not ever 'save' when buying cards (it was a cheap no name)

I had an expensive SanDisk Pro CF card that died on me completely :( I find the best way to be sure is a camera with two card slots, and copy to both cards.

    This is great advice for pro's to have two card slots. Us amateurs have to make do :)
