The Stunning Douglas DC-6 by Red Bull
As F1 is at the Red Bull Ring in Austria this weekend I figured I'd give the few fans who combine a passion for motorsport and aviation with some impressions I was able to capture on two occasions of Red Bull's restored to the last rivet classic Douglas DC-6 airliner. The Red Bull brothers traveled to Africa to bargain this last surviving sample off of an African warlord or so the tale goes.
Anyway...
It is a marvelous machine. Here it is shortly after take off with landing gear retracted:
Nice details all around such as the original Douglas nametag on the tail:
If you like this kinda stuff they do have some more jewels in the stable, will put some shots together on that soon:
To all you aviationists in Steemit let me know if you like this stuff, will throw together some more then!
awesome
agreed :) there's more to come...
Nice corsair,
It's an absolute beauty and has all the details perfectly executed. Looks like someone lifted it from the carrier deck right after deployment and put it right there. These Red Bull boys know what they're doing!
A very nice contribution, which I take with for "My Steemit Favorites Part 10."

Really? How cool, I checked some of your 'my favorites' and it referred me to some very cool content.
Glad you like it!
Updated. Forgot to include a pic of it pulling away into the clouds.
I just love these oldies among the airplanes! Upvoting and resteeming this one and will be following you to see more of those interesting posts!
Thanks a lot! I went to many airshows over the years but never really got around to putting it all together until I saw that DC-6 during the F1 broadcast yesterday and was like 'hang on...I know that bugger!' :)
