Monochrome Monday - Future

The biggest mystery

No matter what you learned from Back to the Future, the past (most likely) can not be changed. Yet, we spend so much of our lives thinking about it, dwelling on it, wishing it were different. Our lives are entrenched with "what-ifs" and" if onlys", that sometimes we forget that the decisions we make in the present will turn into regrets.

Safe

Why do we spend so much time in the futile mental past? Why do we seek what we can not find?

We know  the past, we've been there, and in a way, it feels home, it feels safe. We know what to expect, we know the outcome, we know the future.

Taken on an Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II

What will this young man grow up to be? What will he accomplish? The pondering of a youthful mind, uncorrupted by the world, not berried in his own memories. An ambitious trooper ready to face the world.

What can become

Get out of your comfort zone, get out of the past, and work to building a better future, a potential pleasant past, focus on being a better woman, man, spous, child, and of course friend.

Good advice, especially with this crypto rollercoaster it's so easy to regret to have clicked or not the "exchange" button...

We've all been there @airmatti. Thanks for your upvote!;)

I spend so much time thinking about the past because it helps me prepare for better, more precise decisions in the future. Life is cyclical and repeats itself constantly. Reflecting on past success and failure helps me recognize it sooner when it comes around again.

That's great, ...just don't get lost in there like I do sometimes. Thanks for your comment.
