Studio shot, Elinchrom lighting. 2 soft boxes. 5x4" plate camera. polaroid type 55 B&W Negative. Sepia toned in cs6

I love the clarity and detail of 5x4" photography. Because the film is so big it, it contains far more detail than 35mm or medium format. However there are many drawbacks to using a 5x4" camera, mainly the size and useability of the camera and so is genearally used for still life and product photography rather than moving objects such as people.
The camera is cumbersome and dificult to move around, your image in the viewfinder is upside down and flipped horizontaly. you can only load 1 piece of film at a time and You can't see through the viewfinder after you have loaded the film.
So you have to be absolutely on the ball with regard to composition and knowing where your subject is in relation to the camera at all times.
This was taken using type 55 polaroid film which gives you an instant print but more importantly, it also gives you an instant negative.
