BEST VIEWS OF HIMALAYAS (CHANDRATAL LAKE)

At 4300 meters, Chandratal lake in Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh lies below Kunzum range. It is a deep blue-water lake surrounded by high barren snow ladded mountains.

This place is sacred place for Hindus and Bhodh people. This lake is origin for Chandra river which is a very violent river. The lake looks like a crecent moon. Therefore also called the "Moon lake".

The landscape around the lake is very diffrent. We can see the diffrently formed mountains with no vagetation from here. These mountains are covered with snow most of the time of the year. No vegetation can grow at these high altitude mountains and so these are Barren, full of snow all the time and thus feeding the chandratal lake.

The high altitude mountain ranges can be seen from here that are above 6000m. Its a amazing view seeing those high snow ladded mountains. Mulkila is one of the highest mountain peak seen from here 6500 m of altitude.

This place has a diffrent vibe. The blue colored lake, barren highlands, snow and clearest sky. This place offers some of the best view of the Himalayas. It is a must visit place in Himachal Pradesh.
