Steemians can support the miracle performances of this Non-Profit in 2018!

@papilloncharity work in squatter camps, townships and support worthy causes in poor areas across the country! In order to promote accountability, they prefer to support registered smaller and struggling organizations.

The award certificate states; "You are among a distinguished few to receive this community endorsement"!

It's so easy to talk the walk, but to really walk the talk is a fish of a totally different color! One of my favorite sayings is; "Don't tell me; show me"
Throughout the past 16 years of Papillon's existence, even in the toughest struggles to survive, we have done exactly this! We don't talk with empty lips, we show and our communities attest to what we do!

But why then do we regularly struggle to keep our doors open? According to our amazing service delivery successes, everyone should be lining up to assist us? Not So!

(A) The first problem is that Papillon is totally independent, non-political and we work with the poor of all faiths, or non faiths. It is not up to us to place any conditions on the poor before we help them.
This standpoint cuts out a lot of possible support! Government, political parties, religious entities etcetera.

(B) The second problem is ownership. Although I am the Founder of The Papillon Foundation, it does not belong to me. I have a great fear of empire building and ensured at Papillon's official government registration, that Papillon is registered as a publicly owned Non Profit.
I think you can see what a problem this presents to anyone that is out to gain ownership of Papillon.

(C) A third problem is that there are hundreds, if not thousands of little charities, Ngo's, Npo's and other worthy little causes that are screaming for support from the same financial pot of money in the country! A banker friend once told me that they receive about 300 applications for funding from charities every day!!!

And yet! The Papillon Foundation has continued like this, in this dire situation for the past 16 years. The ex CEO of a large company once told me that Papillon's annual turn-over is the same as the annual salary of a junior accountant.
Miracles? Oh yes indeed! We see many miracles in our work.
Especially whenever special people step up to help us.
There are already a few on Steemit.
This is what keeps us going!

But what about when we are gone?
I have a special plan for Papillon that I will have to discuss with you in another post!
