Some farmlife pictures!

Ever seen a wild Heron that caught a snake for lunch?

Neither have I and as you can see, he was quite a distance off next to one of the farm dams, but fortunately I managed to get two shots of him before he disappeared amongst some tall reeds. Apart from the second picture of the Heron, I want to show you some other pictures that I took today.
Let's have a look!

Here's my second shot of the Heron

There are still many original buildings in Grabouw!

A scene in the distance taken from town!

Here we have the rubbish collectors on the farm!

There are a few cottages on the farm, apart from 3 main houses and all of the residents are required to separate their waste into recycling bins. One for glass, one for plastic and one for paper.

A double shot of two different sunbirds on the pin cushions.

And finally here is a third type of sunbird with beautiful colors!

These are early days of our residence here and as time goes on, I am sure to make many discoveries that I will share here on steemit. We are now thankfully in a few days of sunshine before the cold mist and winter rains return.
Of course we welcome the rains, as the Western Cape had to endure a severe drought over the past few years, but it seems that the dams are now slowly filling up again. Only by grace.

We hope you have enjoyed the pictures and thank you for visiting a post by @papilloncharity

Blessings also to all of our charity supporters and I might have some good news to share with all of you soon.

Buenas fotografías. Muestran tu pasión por la naturaleza. Estoy preparando unos post para mostrar la belleza del paisaje natural de mi pueblo y sus alrededores, Caicara del Orinoco del estado Bolívar.

Thank you my friend!

At first I thought it was a snail! So cool!

Yeah! As I said, I took the shots from a fair distance and only when I transferred the pictures to this PC did I jump with glee, as it was indeed a snake! Thank you and blessings to you guys! @for91days

Snake didn't stand a chance in that beak, nice photography of the sunbirds and flowers.

All in all a successful day out with the camera!

@joanstewart Thank you Lady Joan, today was an even better day with the camera, as we launched our first Papillon project in this new place! Blessings!

It's so fun to see all the new sights! How can a heron keep from getting bitten by the snake? Wouldn't you think it would kill it before it picked it up?

He picked it up by its head Lady Melinda! Heron's are clever and they know that a snake can strike at them, that why they strike first and they crush its head with their strong beaks! Blessings and sorry for the late reply! @melinda010100
