Ever seen a Tortoise Yawn?

A super hot day after yesterday's rain and we spent some time at our favorite place in the country! "Hardy" the Tortoise also experienced the heat and he rewarded us with a rare yawn!

His name is Hardy because he is always tardy!

Here we have one of the new junior Meerkats looking on as we feed an old chicken.

This is a Sacred Ibis coming in to land next to its mate at one of the dams! You can also see four Blacksmiths!

Yet another Meerkat peeping as we walk by

What a beautiful sight to behold on a hot day! Peaceful, serene and the cloud reflections can surely lure one into pleasant dreams! Nature rules here and the owners are keen to keep the place as natural as they can.
No litter, no noise and a strong security management. Certainly a sanctuary for nature lovers.

Wild animals are not stupid and yet a trust can be built between them and humans!
Whenever we arrive, many of them come to us because they know that we will not hurt them, or touch them!
A mutual trust exists and it's such a pleasure to be accepted by them.
As in our lives' there are many that try to take chances, especially in a effort to get to the bag of food, but I soon sort them out!
Is this not then how life is supposed to be?
Think about it!

Good to hear from you! I think he forgot to put his dentures in this morning! Yawnnnnnn! Those are two different Meerkats my friend! Blessings!

Fantastic photos!! I have a photo somewhere of a big snake yawning, but have not ever seen a turtle yawn!! That is quite amazing that you got that shot!! Resteeming.

Can you believe that it was also my first time to see this! I hear that he was comfortable with our company, but I've been around many before and this never happened! Thank you for the support Lady Melinda!

Wow.. i never see this on my life ever.. and this the first time to see this.. amazing shot

Thank you, it was also a first time for me to see this!

Where is this? I could relax completely in those surroundings. Beautiful photos, as always.

A pace on the outskirts of Johannesburg Lady Minna, a place where one finds rest for the soul! Thank you for your kind support! Blessings!

Keep your secret place a secret or people invade with picnics and loud music @papilloncharity

Amazing collection of animals, I have not seen a tortoise in the wild for ages, we have mongoose but sadly building along the coastline is destroying their natural habitat, so when we saw families of up to twenty, now we seldom see them at all.

It certainly makes one's blood boil to see the destruction in the name of "progress" Lady Joan. We have the surrounding hill tops desecrated by palaces. But they pay as the Meerkats and the Dassies, including the Crows, have simply adopted the changes and the natural messing's around the million rands worth of houses are blessings in our minds! Nature will always reclaim its own! So sad about the mongooses!

Definitely a beautiful sight to behold. Love this. The yawn made me laugh though. Haha

Yeah! Out of this world to see this for the first time in my life! Even a friend of mine who has one as a pet in the USA, has never seen his yawn! Blessings!

That's incredible. Blessings indeed. You did well to capture the moment and it is really priceless. Well done.
