Abandoned Abode - Contest Entry

This humble abode

which is nothing more than a small outbuilding was being used as a temporary house. It's on Wilton Way in London E8 and was used as a shelter. The door had been broken off and there was a duvet in the doorway. It looked like the inhabitant had moved on. I saw this building many times and thought it was an electricity substation. It was actually just a storage hut.

    Really cool picture. I feel like the black and white really brought out the abandoned feeling in this photo. Good luck on your photo entry !

      thanks @newyorkfever (great name btw). You're right, it is a stark situation and the contrast of the dark interior and bright sunlight enhances the tension in the image. Black & White is really good for emphasising form unencumbered by colour, which can drastically alter how elements of a photograph are perceived
