8 bit Processed Photography

8bit

Call me old fashioned but I do love 8bit gfx. This is a selection of my photography processed with varying degrees of 8bit processing filters. It's an interesting way to reduce colour, which is an art college favourite task. It's also an interesting way of abstracting and studying composition. The further you push it, the more the viewer has to work. There's a certain level where unless you squint, you can't see the image anymore. Each scale of composition has it's own optimum level or 'sweet spot.

I am usng this software as well. It was cheap and it is a great way to hide imperfections or to unify photomontage elements.

Hey Antharon, thanks for the reply. I never thought of using it to hide imperfections.. love your cat !
it's a great way to extend photography.. gameboy camera filter is nice and the VGA / SVGA settings are faithful, which is really nice. ( I was looking at a real gameboy camera the other day) it's exact.. look forward to seeing more posts.. 8bit rules !

Nice effect! It reminds me French painter Georges Serat artworks _ !

Stella what a great comment Thanks.. I'm a big fan of Seurat ! :)
