An exotic find on a forest glade! He did not fly even when we took him in hand...
Hi friends! We met this exciting red butterfly on the lawn in the wood! We have never seen this! Maybe you know who it is?
He sat motionless and allowed us to make a photo shoot for him. Then my little daughter put him on the palm and he was very nicely flying!

It looks like moth to me. It's beautiful!
One of the easiest ways to tell the difference between a butterfly and a moth is to look at the antennae. A butterfly’s antennae are club-shaped with a long shaft and a bulb at the end. A moth’s antennae are feathery or saw-edged.
From your photo it looks like it might have feathery antennae.
