AMAZING CHINESE TRIONIX!

in #photography6 years ago

Good day to all who looked at my blog!

I decided that I would dilute my flower blog with various exotic reptiles and animals! How do you like this idea?) I know that not many are delighted with all insects and especially reptiles), but I know there are also lovers of such living creatures)

Today I have a terrific Chinese trionics! I like them very much, I remember even when I saw for the first time, for a long time I could not move away from it. So interesting look and behavior.

This freshwater turtle is a Chinese Trionix, even by its name, you can assume its habitat. Belongs to the genus of soft-bodied turtles, which are very common in the Far East and Asia. In Japan and China, they are even specially bred on farms for human consumption. But as they say everyone has their own taste preferences)))

These turtles have a soft leather shell, without rigid horn plates. Even in the photo you can see what her interesting skin. It is a pity there was no opportunity to touch) so I would still manage to touch))) The average weight of turtles is up to 5 kg. In young individuals, the shell is more round and in length from 25 to 40 cm. With age, it becomes flat oval.

A long neck with such an elongated muzzle. The eyes are simply not real, as if they are fascinating! I could not see them for a long time. Despite their activity, they swim rather quickly. At the sight of her being taken off, the turtle took a very good position and gave herself a photograph, for which she thanks a lot)))) Threonexes go out to the land extremely rarely, usually they gently expose their trunk to breathe air.

The rest of the oxygen they get from the water through pharyngeal breathing. Respiratory organs are located inside the pharynx and play a peculiar role of the gills, which allow you to stay in the water for about 15 hours. On the paws are 5 toes with sharp claws that look like swimming membranes.

Chinese trions are predatory turtles that feed on squid, small fish, snails and shrimps. More love is conquered by lovers of the exotic. I probably would not have ventured to have such a miracle at home) to look at the zoo, yes! With pleasure!) But as a favorite pet is not sure .... But everyone has their own preferences))))

Hope you liked the pictures!

Thank you all for your attention!
