Yep the Old Guy packed his bags and made my way to South Carolina!

View from under the pier. It used to be much longer, but they lost half of it in the last hurricane!
Grab a seat under an umbrella, the people watching is grand lol.
Surfside beach is known as a family friendly beach. It lays just a few miles from Myrtle Beach. It has a fantastic vibe of relaxation and taking things easy. You always feel safe, as there is a steady stream police patrols on the beach. You can be out on the beach at all hours of the night and never have to feel threatened. There is plenty of partying at the local bars, but there is no alcohol allowed on the beach.
The Old Guy was in no way interested in the parasailing! But it does look cool!

Not the humans LOL! This couple! It was so cute to see this bird couple watching the sun rise!
Every day brings endless opportunities...wonder what dream we can catch?

Literally speaking first picture is just magical and those colours are reflecting as just brushed by the nature's creator and for sure this kind of beautiful scene can heal us.
And you've shared beautiful and fun pictures and in my opinion you've had awesome time at beach side and i want to say that, the sound of the sea water always reflects different and strong.

That's beautiful down there. I worked on a resort called The Dunes just North od Charleston and also on Kiowa Island.
I was thinking the couple had a telescope and then i read it was birds.

The atmosphere is very calm, natural and a comfortable place to relax physically and spiritually. Personally, I feel like this place.. thank @old-guy-photos..

That's a very nice sunrise picture, I love the colors. Somehow waves and water look good with sunrise pictures.
Do you think there is any truth to the, "red skies in the morning, sailors mourning, red skies at night, sailors delight," kind of thing?
to judge by the images this was a beautiful walk, congratulations for the choice of visit, the pictures look incredible, I hope you have a little more luck with the search for metals and find a gold nugget.

I have always wanted to take a metal detector to the beach.Hopefully the remainder of the pier will survive a few more storms. Pity they don't fix them until it's too late.
