Two new dragonflies

in #photography9 years ago

At least, they were new to me, I knew of their existence but I hadn't seen them before. I found both of them yesterday in the Haaksbergerveen and the connected Armenveen, two peat bogs near Haaksbergen and Buurse, The Netherlands:

The downy emerald (Cordulia aenea):

The same one from the side:

The ruby whiteface (Leucorrhinia rubicunda)

A portrait shot of the same one:

The second one was sitting on a small stick I was holding, so it was easy to get shots from different angles 8-).

Hi ocrdu your dragonflies are of extra quality. Sharp, details visible, rich colored.
Medium shot only f 5,6 and perfect.

We'll have to start calling you the Dragonfly Whisperer, as you can just hold out a stick and take their pictures as you will. Pretty amazing, and great photos.

Thank you.
Speak softly and carry a small stick, all there is to it, really.

Look, I provided proof for any and all disbelievers 8-).
