Tree on tree

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

I've seen many a thing carved in trees over the years: initials, tokens of love, three-letter words (no, three, I'm Dutch, lul), etcetera. This one, however, was a first for me, and I am still not sure what it is in aid of.

Maybe it's a helpful hint for wandering city-dwellers, maybe an entry into a state-the-obvious competition, an English lesson gone wild, or an Enlightened Person mistaking the bark for the Steemit editor:

Perhaps René Magritte had been there.

Referring to his lost painting called "Ceci n'est pas un arbre", you mean?

Yes, that one, what ever happened to that one?
Or was this a work by Marcel Duchamp, but then the title would be to obvious.

Or both, but then it would have read "Ceci n'est pas un urinoir".

Indeed, so the mystery continues... Putting the obvious name on an object, not even trying to confuse us and yet managing to do so.

Or maybe we oversee the staple that is apparantly between TR - EE?

Is it close to a stream this tree? Because EE can mean water.

Okay this starting to hurt my brain, I think I'll call it a day, hahaha.
