Pods that go pop
This peculiar flower is hanging from a plant called touch-me-not balsam (Impatiens noli-tangere), groot springzaad in Dutch. The flowers are followed by pods which, when ripe, explode when you touch them, ejecting the seeds.

This is its smaller cousin, small balsam (Impatiens parviflora), klein springzaad in Dutch. You can see the Pods That Pop on the left:

The two species above are native in The Netherlands and much of Europe. The next one, policeman's helmet aka gnome's hatstand (Impatiens glandulifera), reuzenbalsemien in Dutch, is not.
Originally from the Himalayas, this is an invasive plant here in Europe, capable of covering large areas quickly and pushing out native species:

It does feel really strange when you feel a bit of plant move between your fingers.
we have a relative here in the states that we called touch me nots growing up but everyone calls them Jewel Weed. It is a good plant to rub on you if you accidentally touch poison ivy.
