Not sure who is observing whom

Viviparous lizards can be very curious. One move and they disappear, but if you sit still long enough they sometimes come out to have a good look at the strange creature holding a black box with a big eye.

Sitting still where I took this photo requires copious amounts of DEET, unfortunately, at least if you want to avoid looking like a raspberry.
