More red sticks, in two sizes
Three more photos of the small red damselfly (Ceriagrion tenellum), koraaljuffer in Dutch, as seen in the Armenveen, a peat bog near the German border in The Netherlands.
A male:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 200mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/320s
A female, or maybe a very young male:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 265mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/200s
And another male:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 200mm, ISO100, f5.6, 1/800s
Here are two photos of the large red damselfly (Pyrrhosoma nymphula), vuurjuffer in Dutch, to show the difference.
A male:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 300mm, ISO200, f8, 1/320s
A female:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 42mm, ISO200, f8, 1/100s
The easiest way to tell the two species apart is by looking for the broad metallic band around the end of the tail.
Thanks for watching!

They are more rare than the blue ones, at least in The Netherlands they are.
Very beautiful and high quality pictures. These sticks will definitely like me. Boys colouring is much brighter girls.Red eyes like beads. Thanks for the fun!
