It's art, but not as we know it

I walked into an art exhibition by Mitsy Groenendijk the other day not knowing what to expect. My first reaction was "oh look, that's cute", but the longer I looked around, the more confused I got, to the point of finding it all a bit eerie. All in all, I loved the exhibition, it had a real impact on me, but I still don't know exactly why. Have a look for yourself:
