Butterfly depositing eggs (or just a dreamy photo)

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

This is a common brimstone (Gonepteryx rhamni) depositing eggs. We spotted her last saturday in the forest:

How we know she was depositing eggs, you may wonder? Well, we checked:

Olympus Stylus 1s, 42mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/50s

The male of the species is a much intenser yellow, maybe because he doesn't need to be camouflaged so much:

Thanks for watching!

great info about butterfly.

Beautiful images. Love the colour of the male butterfly next to the green leaf and the lovely quality of light. Not to say that the two other images aren't stunning as well. 🌿🐛🌿🐛🌿
