Butterflies: the Green Hairstreak

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

On my walk yesterday in a local peatbog called Armenveen I spotted this green hairstreak (Callophrys rubi):

Olympus Stylus 1s, 135mm, ISO100, f5.6, 1/640s

These small butterflies aren't extremely rare, but it was the first time I ever saw one, so I'm quite happy it posed long enough for a photo.

Awesome pic:) nice butterfly

I've never eve seen anything close to this color around here. Magnificent!

It's pretty, isn't it? I tried to persuade it that its colour may be a bit beyond what is useful for camouflage, but it didn't listen.

Great picture! Thank you for sharing!

Glad you like it!

Para los amantes de la naturaleza, esta mariposa contribuye con su mejor pose para la fotografía. Excelente imagen @ocrdu

¡Gracias!

Thanks for sharing your first Green Hairstreak. Very nice of him/her to pose for you. Very beautiful butterfly.
