Butterflies: Small Copper
The small copper (Lycaena phlaeas), kleine vuurvlinder in Dutch, is small but very territorial, and will try to scare away other butterflies and insects from the small part of the world it calls its own.
They are fairly common in The Netherlands, and found in Europe, Asia, North America, and North Africa.
They are very active when the sun is out, and a joy to watch, which is why I have a great many photos of them. Here is a selection:

Oh wait, almost forgot: All this prettiness comes from a tiny caterpillar:

Great gallery! I enjoyed every last bit of it! Especially the wide selection of different plants and flowers to go along with them and let's not forget the tiny caterpillar indeed :)
Thanks! And no, they aren't picky when it comes to flowers 8-).
Even if they are not picky, I'm sure each shot took a lot time and patience to get right. Keeping in mind how large this gallery is, I bet it illustrates hours if not full days of patience ;)
I like butterfly
